Coloriffic Scavenger Hunt is the tenth episode of the WellieWishers Animated Episodes.

Plot[]

All the girls run into the garden, wearing their wellies and carrying umbrellas on a rainy day. Emerson splashes in a puddle--splashing Carrot, who is trying to avoid getting wet--and sings a made up song as she does so: "It's raining, it's pouring, the silly bunny is snoring." Camille sneaks up behind Emerson and snorts like snoring, startling Emerson and making her fall. They laugh together before Ashlyn calls for them to come on. Carrot hides under a bush to stay dry.

Under the big central tree, Emerson says she loves, loves, loves, the rain. Willa interrupts to ask if they hear something. Kendall says she doesn't hear anything and Willa says exactly--the rain has stopped. As they pull their umbrellas down, Emerson sulks. Camille says don't worry--after a rainfall, everything looks bright. And, Ashlyn adds, sparkly (with the shimmer of rain drops). Carrot sticks his head out, but his nose is splashed by a drop off a leaf. Kendall wonders how many colors there are in the garden and Camille says a zillion-million at least. At Willa's giggle, she adds there might be, if they look around and find them.

Ashlyn pops out of her seat and says this gives her the best idea ever--they should have a coloriffic scavenger hunt. Emerson says that's her favorite--then asks what it is, making the others laugh. Ashlyn explains that each of them should pick their favorite color, and whoever finds the most things that color in the garden will win. Kendall says it sounds fun. Ashlyn asks who should keep score and Camille volunteers, taking the score pad. Ashlyn brags that since finding colors is her specialty, she'll probably win before saying they should pick colors.

Camille picks blue for water (where the mermaids live). Emerson picks yellow like her rubber chicken (and makes chicken sounds), Kendall chooses red like her wheelbarrow. Willa hesitates, then picks brown for noble Sir Chippington (a chipmunk), who scampers by. Ashlyn picks orange like her favorite orange marmalade. Once everyone confirms their colors, they head to the starting line to count off. The others line up at the line and Camille counts off "on your mark, get set" very slowly and dragging it out until Ashlyn yells at her, then says "go!" and the girls (except Ashlyn and Camille) dart off to find their colors. Ashlyn sighs.

Camille says she sees two blue things already--her dress and her wellies. Ashlyn argues that they don't count, since it's supposed to be colors in the garden. Camille retorts that she's in the garden. Ashlyn says fine, she can have it, and Camille marks two lines for herself (next to a portrait of her face; she has drawn one for each of them). Ashlyn says she's sure something orange is right around them, too.

Emerson looks around and plucks a yellow daffodil from the flower patch. Kendall then finds a red strawberry and shows it off--bingo-bango!--but holds it too tight and squishes it. She says it still counts. Willa finds a brown stick. Camille says, teasingly, that everyone else is doing well. Ashlyn, upset, says it's because they picked easy colors and they should all keep hunting.

Camille and Ashlyn find Emerson at the Garden Theater Stage, where she has found a yellow foam finger. She does a little cheer, spelling out the word yellow and forms the letters with her body: Y-E-L-L-O. Ashlyn points out she forgot a letter. Emerson ads a W, saying it spells yellow, and Camille marks the point--then picks up a blue wig from the trunk and puts it on her head, saying it's another point for her and asks Ashlyn if she likes her "Blue-tiful" mermaid hair, to which Ashlyn rolls her eyes. Ashlyn says there must be something, looking through the trunk--they confidently pulls out a scarf. Emerson pulls the "scarf" apart to show it's really two scarves--one red, one yellow. Ashlyn huffs as Camille marks down a point for Emerson. Kendall then rolls by with her red wheelbarrow and takes the red scarf from Ashlyn to put into it, then says she'll see them at the central tree and rolls off. Camille marks two points for her. Ashlyn huffs again, her face turning red with anger. Camille teases that if Kendall noticed her face right now, she'd have to give her another point. Ashlyn sighs and Camille asks what's wrong, and Ashlyn says nothing--that everything is just great.

At the center tree, Camille sees a bluebird and says that it's blue--it says so right in the name. She then asks Ashlyn if she's had much luck, and Ashlyn says she hasn't really been trying, she's not worried at all, and an expert coloriffic scavenger hunt like "moi" has plenty of time left to search. Willa, having climbed the tree, asks Sir Chippington to let her show her friends his brown fur. Ashlyn asks how it's going. Willa says there's brown everywhere: Sir Chippington, the tree--Camille marks two more points--and as she jumps out of the tree, she lands in a mud puddle, splattering Ashlyn. She then points out the mud's brown. Ashlyn brushes the mud off and fusses that the mud's also messy. Willa apologizes. Ashlyn tells Camille to come along, and she does--but not before she and Willa exchange a look and a shrug.

They arrive at the rabbit hutch, where Carrot takes the very last last bite of his snack: a carrot. Ashlyn fusses at him that he just ate her idea for something orange and complains that this is the worst. Camille says she'll find something soon, and Ashlyn says that's easy for her to say--she has tons of points and Ashlyn has none. She angrily says she's going to the vegetable garden to find more carrots--and that Carrot is not invited, to which he pouts and eats the carrot top. Before she can leave Kendall comes by with her wheelbarrow full of berries and veggies and says she may need a bigger wheelbarrow. Camille marks down three more points for a total of seven. Ashlyn says it's not fair: everyone is finding stuff with their color and she can't find anything orange. There is the sound of a dinging bell, and Ashlyn says that she has found something now--that is the sound of the bell on Aunt Miranda's old bike, which is rusty and thus will be totally orange. They run to the bike to find it freshly painted. Ashlyn sighs at the wet paint and Camille says that Aunt Miranda painted her bike blue and marks down another point for herself.

Emerson calls out that she found a yellow pepper. Kendall points out her red ladybug measuring tape. Willa holds up bread. Emerson has a banana. Kendall finds a red flower. Willa shows off a wooden clipboard. The others call out more things, including butter, and Ashlyn finally get so frustrated that she says that's it, snatches the scorepad from Camille, and tears two pages out then says she doesn't want to play anymore and sinks to the ground, defeated.

Camille squats down beside Ashlyn and asks what's wrong. Ashlyn says that--even though the scavenger hunt was her idea--she's come up empty handed. Camille points out that Ashlyn has tried her hardest. Ashlyn says that she bragged about being the best and what will the others think. Willa interrupts that they'll think that she just needs help looking. Ashlyn says the others found their colors on their own. Emerson says she--Ashlyn--picked the hardest color. Ashlyn meekly apologizes for ripping up the notebook. Camille says to forget about the book, and Willa says to forget about keeping score and they should just have fun. Camille suggests they make a list of everywhere they have and haven't looked, and they'll look again; Emerson calls it an orange-erific scavenger hunt. Ashlyn gets to her feet, thanking her friends. Camille says enough chit-chat and they should get hunting.

After a song montage ("C'mon Let's Play"), the girls gather under the central tree. Willa says she's shocked they didn't find one orange thing. Ashlyn says she can as it starts raining again. They run for cover under the tree. Camille then turns and points out a rainbow calling it coloriffic. They girls giggle and Kendall says they finally found something orange. Ashlyn says it's also red, yellow, and, blue, and Emerson calls it perfect before they cheer and say the day was great. Ashlyn thanks the others and says that she needs to remember that it's more fun to play and not to worry so much about winning. Willa says all that hunting has made her hungry, and they decide to go get a snack.

At the tea table, Emerson says Ashlyn can have her favorite--orange marmalade on toast. Ashlyn declines and says she doesn't even want to hear the word orange. Emerson then takes and munches the toast, humming her made up song. The other girls snort at her, and then they all laugh together.
