Meet Molly's setting[]

An anonymous editor keeps referring to the setting in Meet Molly as October-November 1944. This is incorrect -- if Meet Molly was truly set in October-November 1944, Molly would already have a copy of the D-Day issue of the Chicago Daily Tribune well before the events of Molly Saves the Day.

Additionally, Molly has yet to meet Emily Bennett, as Emily arrives at the McIntire household in the spring of 1944.--AkaiKaze 22:54, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

This is most likely because the books all end in the year XXX4--they do the same thing with Nellie, whose book is set in early Spring 1906, and Julie even though Julie's books expressly say that the summer book falls during the Bicentennial. However, the books do not always start in the year on the books. Those numbers are not set in stone. --Nethilia 08:42, January 24, 2010 (UTC)

Molly's Setting[]

Who is coming up with the dates? October 29th-November 1st couldn't be correct for 1943.

According to the summary, Molly is sitting at her dinner table. This must be a school night. Someone has this as October 29th.

According to the 1943 calendar, http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/?year=1943&country=1 , October 29th would be a Friday. That means it wouldn't be a school night which is clearly false. It had to be October 28th, the day before Friday.

The next chapter says the next day was a school day. There was no school on Saturday and Sunday in Illinois in 1943. So that could not have been October 30th. It had to have been Friday, the day before the weekend. The day that falls before the weekend is October 29th.

They said the next day the girls would meet to work on their Halloween costumes, go trick or treating, then they would spend the night. They must have worked on their costumes that morning, so it must have been a Saturday. This had to be October 30th.

The last day of the story, no one is getting ready for school in the morning. November 1st would be a MONDAY. They did not go to school in the last chapter of the book. They WOKE up, went down to breakfast, and planned their revenge on Ricky. Jill and Dolores planned to go to the movies.

The date has to be October 28th-October 31st. Someone is using the wrong calendar.
