- Summer comes in a new doll box design without a plastic viewing window; this is the first time American Girl has used this style since the early 2000s. A stock image of the doll is on the outside of the box. The packaging inside the box also uses less plastic, and her small accessories come in paper bags with the American Girl logo instead of plastic bags.
