Sandy the Dog is part of Kailey's Collection and, like her, was released in 2003 and retired in 2004. The retail cost was $18.

Dog

Plush golden retriever dog with brown eyes. Makes a barking sound when left front paw is pushed. Tight plastic 'elbows' allow legs and tail to be posed. Requires three AG13 (LR44) computer batteries.

Bandana

Lavender bandana around neck. White and black paisley pattern with "American Girl" print. Bandana is sewn to the neck at the knot.

Battery Replacement

Batteries can only be replaced by opening up the abdomen seam, removing the white power/sound case, and unscrewing the tiny screw to access the battery compartment. After replacement, the seam must be resewn shut.

• While part of Kailey's collection, Sandy is not mentioned in the book at all.
