The National Football League (abbreviated as NFL) is the professional American football league of the United States. Founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association (APFA) before renaming for the 1922 season, it the highest professional level of American football in the world. A total of thirty-two teams play in the NFL, divided equally between the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC) and culminating annually in the Super Bowl.
In Relation to American Girl[]
In 2023, American Girl collaborated with the NFL to release officially licensed items representing the various teams in the League, the Fan Gear Collection. Five teams are represented by cheer uniforms as the NFL Cheer Uniform, five teams are represented by fan outfits as the NFL Fan Outfit and Accessories, and the other twenty-two teams are represented by fan shirts as NFL Fan Tee. The Tees came with NFL hangers, while the cheer uniforms and fan outfits came with packaging themed to each team.
It's theorized that several of the teams picked for the cheer uniforms and fan outfits were selected to include the state representing American Girl Headquarters (Wisconsin) and the locations of larger American Girl Places (Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York).
