With the Brand[]
The brand collaborated with American Girl in 2021 for the first time when additional outfits for the first three World by Us characters (Makena Williams, Maritza Ochoa, and Evette Peeters) were designed by three Black female designers. The doll fashions were pre-sale at the launch and became available for purchase at American Girl retail stores starting in March 2022.

The American Girl Collector Tote was released with artwork of re-imagined modern-style fashion designs for the first six Historical Characters by Carly Cushnie. American Girl also auctioned one-of-a-kind versions of the dolls, designed by Cushnie, on eBay. Each doll started at $300 with all proceeds going to Girls who Code; the auctions ran from Sept 23 to Sept 26 for three days.
As part of the launch of the line, American Girl and HFR held an American Girl Fashion Show on September 23, 2021, at American Girl Place New York and via livestream, focused on the HFR designs for the World by Us and Historical Characters. American Girl also supported HFR's nonprofit organization, ICON360, with a $25,000 donation to help raise awareness and funds for the next generation of BIPOC fashion leaders.
In 2022 Samantha Black again designed outfits for the newly released Historical Character Claudie Wells. The three outfits are inspired by the era and part of Claudie's Collection:
- Jazzy Flapper and Fur Coat Outfit
- Sparkly Skirt and Fur-Trim Top
- Glitzy Sequin Gown and Capelet Outfit
