Hair Cutting is a modification of cutting a doll's hair into a new style.

Major reasons for hair cuts include but are not limited to making a historical character modern, making a doll into a boy, physical resemblance to the owner/recipient, variation in character, or to remove damaged hair.

Hair cuts are easily done by dampening the doll's hair and then clipping it to the desired length with proper scissors. This will not properly remove bangs or add bangs to most dolls as the bangs are generally wefted into the wig cap in a particular manner.

Hair cuts are easier than rewigging in that there is no need to remove the wig; however, if the hair cut goes poorly the doll must either be rewigged or have new, matching hair wefted onto the wig cap.
