Licorice.
Licorice (also Licorice Twist) is a black American longhair cat that was marketed as part of the Just Like You and My American Girl line of items. She was first released in 2003, and a mascot for the line along with Coconut during her initial release until her 2008. Licorice returned in both 2012 and 2022.
As a Modern Line Accessory[]
2003: Licorice was first released in 2003. She is black with green eyes and a white chest and tail tip. She came with a rhinestone collar, a cat toy, a cushion, and a fuzzy sticker. Like the original Coconut, she has a hard body with fur on top, though she also has a posable tail. Like Coconut, she had a magnet to hold accessories. She had one modification after her first release when the rhinestone collar became a velcro ribbon-necklace with plastic jewels. The first edition of Licorice was retired in 2008 and while she could still be found in some bookstores bundled with books for a brief while after, was otherwise phased out.
2012: Licorice was given a redesign and rereleased in 2012. She now had a purple ribbon collar with a name tag with her name on it. Licorice was retired again in 2014 with the retirement of all the named, unjointed pets.
2017: A cat similar to Licorice, the Tuxedo Cat, was released in 2017, but had no name or association to Licorice.
2022: Licorice--now named Licorice Twist--was released as the Licorice Twist Kitty Cat set in 2022 for Truly Me. This is the first time Licorice herself has been released with jointed head and limbs. She comes with a toy purple and lavender fish and her eyes are now blue; the inner ears are now pink. Retail cost is $30.

Coconut had several accessory sets that include clothes and headgear to dress her in; many of these are interchangeable with Licorice as well.
The 2022 version of Licorice can wear and use pet accessories available for all pets.
On Doll's Clothing[]
Licorice had two Just Like You outfits with her image prior to her initial retirement. Unlike Coconut, she was generally only featured on an accessory. At the 2012 rerelease she was on one outfit with Coconut before being retired again.
Books[]
Licorice could come bundled at various bookstores with the book Coconut's Quiz Book prior to her 2008 retirement. This version did not come with the cushion or toy.
