Claudie's Travel Accessories.

Claudie's Travel Accessories were introduced to Claudie's Collection in 2023 and associated with the book Adventures with Claudie. Retail cost is $40.

They are frequently paired with Claudie's Travel Outfit.

Suitcase[]

Brown plastic rectangular suitcase. Fine lined texture on exterior. Molded lines on exterior. Protective corners, top latch (with round button hook for latch), and handle of molded lighter brown plastic. Corners have molded studs on ends. Handle on hinges of black flexible plastic. Handle attached to top through interior with metal studs and on handle hinges with silver metal hinges. Plastic hinges at base. Interior of yellow molded plastic with brown flecks throughout.

In purchased packaging, all items (including pamphlet) come inside suitcase.

Toiletry Pouch[]

Cloth toiletry canvas soft-sided rectangular toiletry pouch. Cloth has pink and white stripes with an accent set including mint green and thin orange stripes, surrounded by two thick white stripes. White interior lining. Functional zipper with silver pull.

Soap Bar[]

Rectangular plastic textured soap bar. Cream colored plastic is dotted throughout with brown flecks to resemble mixed components. Imprinted art deco butterfly on front.

Soap bar comes packaged inside soap packaging.

Soap Bar Packaging[]

Orange cardstock soap packaging. Outside front of packaging reads on large broad sides (front and back) the following text:

Parts of text are surrounded by off white with black border; on sides are outside black art deco flowers and heart charms beneath. Inner white decorative frame with white dots in either corner. Long ends (without opening flaps) also have white border. Either end opens to access soap bar initially packed inside.

Hair Crème Tin[]

Yellow round flat plastic container of hair cream. Removable lid. Text on lid in all black reads:

Interior has non-removable pink "swirled" plastic that is shaped to simulate use of product inside.

Toothbrush[]

Yellow folding travel toothbrush. Faux wooden texture. White molded bristles. Hinge to fold brush side of toothbrush into hollow handle for storage; the brush side can be clicked into place to keep extended.

Tooth Powder[]

Square clear plastic bottle of tooth powder. Grey painted round top resembling lid. Label on front printed with orange border, black rose outline art on sides, and off-white space for text. Rose Tooth Powder in black on off-white of label Bottle Container comes half full of small rose-colored glittery granules to simulate tooth powder inside.

Bottle does not open.

Hair Comb[]

Plastic tortoiseshell decorative hair comb. Top has molded butterfly design (resembling design molded onto on soap). Comb has six curved tines.

Mirror[]

Mint green functional plastic mirror. Mirror base is mostly round with two points at top and handle at base; faux wooden texture on plastic. Round plastic silver mirror. Back has brown art deco flower with two tendrils off either side. Back of handle has attached clear plastic to place in doll's hand.

Pamphlet[]

Shows Claudie in her travel outfit with closed suitcase. Interior discusses Claudie's trip from Harlem to Georgia with her mother and cousin to meet extended family for the first time including picking her new outfit, stops they make, events in Georgia, and items included in the set.

Also discusses Madam C. J. Walker, her creation of her hair and skin care company aimed at African Americans, and becoming one of the first self-made millionaires in the US, including how products under the brand name are available today.[3]
