Aubre Andrus is an author for American Girl.

Biography[]

Andrus is a children's author, freelance writer, and ghostwriter. She has written over fifty various books for companies such as American Girl, National Geographic Kids, Lonely Planet Kids, Disney, and Scholastic.

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Andrus received her degrees in journalism and film from the University of Wisconsin. She was an editor at American Girl Magazine from 2006 to 2009. She now lives in Santa Monica, California with her husband and daughters.​ She loves to travel around the world, explore the natural beauty of Southern California, and play in the ocean with her family.

In 2021, Andrus launched Adjective Animal Publishing, an indie children's press that inspires kids to be kind and be curious. It debuted with The Look Up Series, a collection of middle-grade biography books that discuss various diverse women in S.T.E.A.M. careers.
