American Girl Gear, first items.
American Girl Gear is a line of modern children's clothing that was available from 1994 until the early 2000s, approximately 2002.
Overview[]
The line offered modern children's clothing in sizes 6X to 16 (grouped into Small, Medium, and Large) and accessories; shoes and socks were not released, but tights and underwear were. Items were first advertised in American Girl Magazine starting with the November/December 1994 issue in a mini catalog in the magazine.
Select items resembled outfits that were later part of the American Girl of Today line. The line used American Girl Today and the American Girl of Today logo before the modern line. Many sets were stand alone items that did not match any doll's clothing.
Grin Pins and Miss AG Bear were also advertised as part of the brand; Miss AG Bear often had outfits matching select items (marked here with a flower (✿).)
While matching Dress Like Your Doll items continue to be sold, they are no longer sold under the name "American Girl Gear."
